Tourist areas generally have enhanced security.  Following key precautions can further reduce your risk:

• Use reputable transportation: Avoid hailing street taxis, especially late at night. Instead, use regulated taxi stands, hotel-arranged or reputable transport.
• Maintain situational awareness: Be aware of your surroundings, particularly when outside of the resort in crowded areas, and avoid wearing flashy jewelry or displaying large amounts of cash.

Resort Area Safety:

Cancun's hotel zone is specifically designed for international tourism and hosts thousands of business conferences annually.  It is generally considered to be very safe.

Resort Security:

Secrets Riviera Maya is located in a well-established tourist zone with 24/7 security and is frequented by international business travelers and vacationers.

 Health concerns:

The resort area has modern medical facilities nearby, and the property maintains international hospitality standards for food safety and cleanliness.

Additional Costs:

You'll need to arrange your own round trip airfare to Cancun and ground transportation between the airport and resort.

Spa services and off-resort excursions are available at additional cost for those who wish to enhance their experience.

While tipping is not required at all-inclusive resorts, small gratuities for exceptional service are appreciated but entirely optional.

You will need to book your own transportation between the airport and Secrets Riviera Cancun.

 Currency:

The Mexican peso (MXN) is the official currency, but US dollars are widely accepted at most resorts and tourist areas in Cancun. 

 At the resort:

The resort accepts major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) for spa services, premium drinks, excursions, and other extras not included in your package. They also accept cash in both USD and pesos.

A Credit card will be required at check-in to cover any incidentals.

 Tipping:

Tipping is not required at all-inclusive resorts. However, it is very appreciated.

Practical tips:

• Bring small bills ($1, $5, $10 USD) for easy tipping
• Tip in USD or Pesos

Most travelers find that budgeting $10-20 USD per person per day covers standard tipping at an all-inclusive resort.
